July 8, 2008 - InterMountain Orthopedics Installs Quantum Medical Imaging's Direct Digital System
Long Island, NY - July 8th, 2008 - Medical equipment manufacturer, Quantum Medical Imaging has completed an installation of their dual-panel Q-Rad-Digital System, which included Canon digital panels at InterMountain Orthopedics, located in Boise, ID. The sale and installation was facilitated by Turn-Key Medical Imaging, a Quantum "Gold-Star" Dealer in the USA.
InterMountain Orthopedics, one of largest Orthopedic groups in Idaho selected the Q-Rad-Digital Floor-Mounted System, with Canon Dual-Panel DR Receptor Solution. An additional feature to this system's configuration included, TechVision (TM): Complete Two-Way Generator Integration and Image Preview with all Canon Digital Systems. TechVision, an innovation for the digital imaging industry, allows the Technologist to remain close to the patient at all times during the exams. TechVision offers Technologists the ability to easily view and set-up all exposure parameters at tube-side. Technologists are given the opportunity to remain by the patient for positioning or can use the Operator Control Panel (OCP) outside of the room, if patients are comfortable.
The ease of two-way generator communication via TechVision eliminates the back-and-forth from the OCP to the patient, in order to prepare patient exams. The operator has complete control to adjust exposure parameters at the tube-side, ideal for all Orthopedic type exams including Pediatric patients, when patients are under great stress, pain or are fearful of the exam process. With the same functionality at either tube-side or OCP, Technologists are empowered with the choice of staying close to a patient who needs comforting. Within five seconds the Technologist can view the x-ray directly on the TechVision's in-room color touch-panel, which is mounted at the x-ray source tube assembly, enabling the Technologist to determine the QA decision prior to repositioning the patient or removing themselves from the room for duration of time. Integration with the Touchscreen DR console utilizing TechVision provides automated pre-programmed generator exposure techniques for each body part to be examined. With TechVision integrated into with the DR system, the Technologist obtains another incremental productivity gain in the total digital workflow. This synchronized generator solution greatly streamlines the imaging process and decreases overall examination time, while allowing the technologist to remain close to the patient, for increased patient care.
The Q-Rad-Digital Ceiling-Mounted system uses a Floor Mounted Tube Stand with a ten foot floor mounted track to provide for complete flexibility and virtually unlimited imaging procedures. "With this configuration, the facility will experience an increase in patient care, in addition to increasing their patient throughput" said David Wiser, Quantum's Director of National Sales. Q-Rad-Digital systems are designed for hospital emergency rooms, imaging centers and orthopedic facilities which demand not only high quality, but maximum flexibility, in order to accommodate all types of imaging exams. These systems are available for use throughout the world.
